So I had a chance to try the R500 Streamline, and honestly, the look of the thing stands out on the road - that big grill makes it easy to spot. I wasn't expecting much from the interior, but it surprised me. Decent materials, nothing falling off, lots of room for legs and bags. Dashboard gives you all the info you need, maybe a little too much at times - took a while to figure out all the dials and switches. The engine's got lots of pull, didn't notice any lag when overtaking, and the brakes (with ABS and EBS standard now) did the job in bad weather. As for running costs, it's okay, just like any other modern Euro-5 truck with the big V8. Annoying that you have to get used to the steering adjustment, not super intuitive. Haven't driven it long enough to break anything but seems reliable so far.

Recently had the chance to operate the R500, and I must say the steering ease is remarkable. Controls are intuitive, and mirrors provide an improved field of view, though adjusting to their placement took a bit of time.

Having put the Scania R500 through its paces, I have mixed feelings. The engine's performance is commendable, but the ABS system, while generally reliable, could occasionally feel over-sensitive. Interior comfort is high, with features like lumbar support seats aiding longer drives, though the electronic systems might present a learning curve. Fuel efficiency aligns well with expectations, even under varying load conditions.

I’ve driven various trucks over the years, and the R500 has solid capabilities. The ergonomic setup of controls in the cab makes extended drives less tiring. While the exterior decently cuts through wind resistance, I found mild road noise seeping in at higher speeds. The suspension works well, offering a stable ride. It’s a truck built with functionality in mind, no unnecessary frills.

I've spent some serious time behind the wheel of the Scania R500, and I must say it's a solid piece of machinery. The high-roof design gives plenty of interior space, making those long hauls more comfortable. The engine performs well, delivering dependable power for various jobs. That said, maneuvering in tight spaces can be a bit challenging. Fuel efficiency seemed average compared to similar models, which could be an area for improvement. Overall, it's a reliable truck for demanding tasks.
